VGR Tournament: rules

The VGR Tournament exists since March 2013 and offers you every 6 months the way to become one of the best players of VGR.

Each tournament is split into two championships: one for members and another for teams.
Here are the rules for both of them.

The member tournament

To be in the member tournament, you must be part of the 128 most active members, counting on the new scores they send. Editions are not counted. In case of tied numbers of new scores added, members with most posted scores on the website at the end of qualification period will be part of the tournament. Qualifications periods are the followings:

• From January, the 1st to February the 28th included (or the 29th for leap years) for the tournament of March
• From July, the 1st to September the 31st included for the tournament of October

As soon as the tournament begins, qualified members are challenged into a versus match, so there's, for the fisrt day, a total of 64 matches. Versus are chosed by a totally random process, without any particular statistics between concurrents. All of theses 64 matches are played at the same time in a full 7 days period. During the 7 days, the concurrent who will win more platinium medal than his opponent will win the round, and become automatically qualified for the next round, keeping his opponent away from the tournament. If tied on platinium medals won or lost, the concurrent with the better place on the medal rank of VGR on the final day of the round wins. If there's still tied, the highest rank on the VGR's Point rank will be declared as the winner. Then, if all criterias aren't enough, the winner will be found by a total random process.

After the 7 firsts days, there's only 64 contestants left. That means 32 matches, played during the second week, starting from 0 for this new week, and again, and again... After 6 weeks of competition, the 4 last concurrents are playing the semi-final. Both winners will fight into the final match but the two losers of the semi-final are not eliminated. In fact, they'll match for the 3rd place of the tournament.

Here are the wins given to the members who reach the 3 best rank:

• 1st : 5,000 pointsVGR
• 2sd : 2,000 pointsVGR
• 3rd : 500 pointsVGR

In case of deletion or ban of a contestant for unrespected website rules, here is the way the tournament continues:

• If the contestant is not in the competition anymore, the tournament follows as it does
• If the contestant is still in competition, his opponent will win automatically the round. In case of a finale or semi-final round, the deleted or ban member is completly deleted from the tournament and rankings is redone in order to have a fair 1st, 2nd and 3rd. We can also make special matches and rounds in some exceptionnal cases, in order to get 3 winners.
• In the case where there will be less than 3 contestants at the end of the tournament, concurrents left will share partially the wins.
• And finally, if there're no more contestant, the tournament will be canceled and no prices will be given.

The team tournament

To be in the team tournament, you must be part of the 32 most active team, counting on the new scores they send. Editions are not counted. In case of tied numbers of new scores added, teams with most posted scores on the website at the end of qualification period will be part of the tournament. Qualifications periods are the same as member tournament:

• From January, the 1st to February the 28th included (or the 29th for leap years) for the tournament of March
• From July, the 1st to September the 31st included for the tournament of October

Teams are randomly placed into 8 pools, so they're 4 teams into a pool. Each team will match each-other inside their pools, forming a championship into each pool. The two best teams, in each pool, who gets a platinium medal difference higher than others, will be qualified for the direct elimination phase. This championship is during 3 weeks: each week, teams are concurring each-other.

Versus between teams for the direct elimination phase are defined by the following way:

• 1st of pool A versus 2nd of pool B
• 1st of pool C versus 2nd of pool D
• 1st of pool E versus 2nd of pool F
• 1st of pool G versus 2nd of pool H
• 1st of pool B versus 2nd of pool A
• 1st of pool D versus 2nd of pool C
• 1st of pool F versus 2nd of pool E
• 1st of pool H versus 2nd of pool G

During this elimination phase, each losing team is eliminated, but the finals and semi-finals matches. Just like member tournament, a 3rd place match is also available.

Here are the wins given to members belong to three best teams on the ranking:

• 1st : 500 pointsVGR
• 2sd : 200 pointsVGR
• 3rd : 50 pointsVGR

VGR is keeping rights of deletion or update on datas linked to the tournament and on this rules. This rules is free for updates, and also during a tournament.
